Sites change: a new plugin, a marketing tag added by a colleague, a theme update. Any of them can quietly set cookies before consent. With Omea Consent Pro, the cloud scan runs every month and tells you when something new appears.

What Pro adds to the Scanner

On Omea Consent › Scanner, below the scan result:

Setting Default What it does
Scan every month On Runs a cloud scan every 30 days. The next date is shown as Next scan ….
Email me when something new appears On After a scheduled scan, emails you about findings the previous scan didn’t have. Off while monthly scans are off.

Each box saves as soon as you change it. You can also run a scan any time with Run cloud scan – there’s no limit with Pro.

What triggers an email

Only new findings from a scheduled scan, in three groups:

  • Before any choice – a statistics or marketing cookie set before the visitor chose.
  • After “Reject all” – one set even after the visitor rejected.
  • Page without the banner – a page on your domain where the banner doesn’t run.

Functional cookies don’t trigger alerts. The email goes to the site’s administration email address, with the subject [Your site] Cloud scan: N new finding(s).

Developers can send it elsewhere with the omea_consent_pro_cloud_scan_alert_to filter.

What to do with an alert

  1. Open Omea Consent › Scanner and look at the new finding.
  2. Find where it comes from – usually a newly installed or updated plugin, or a tag added in GTM.
  3. Move the code into Scripts, turn on auto-blocking, or – for pages without the banner – add the embed line.
  4. Run Run cloud scan again to confirm.

Each scan also refreshes your cookie table, so the cookie policy stays current without any work.

What is sent

As with every cloud scan, the plugin sends your site’s home URL, the plugin version and your licence key to Cultmetrics’ scanner in the EU. The scanner returns cookie names and settings, storage keys, script addresses and third-party hosts – never cookie values. Results are kept for 90 days.
