HubSpot cookie banner on WordPress: use one banner
Stop showing two cookie banners on a WordPress site with HubSpot. Omea Consent hides HubSpot's banner and sends the choice to HubSpot's consent API.
The official HubSpot plugin for WordPress expects HubSpot’s own cookie banner. Add a consent plugin and visitors see two banners – and HubSpot may set tracking cookies before either one has an answer. Omea Consent solves this: it hides HubSpot’s banner and passes the visitor’s choice to HubSpot.
How it works
When HubSpot is detected, Omea Consent:
- Hides HubSpot’s own cookie banner on your WordPress pages.
- Sends the visitor’s choice to HubSpot’s consent API on every page and every time it changes.
- Removes HubSpot’s tracking cookies when a visitor withdraws Statistics.
The categories map like this:
| Omea category | HubSpot consent category |
|---|---|
| Statistics | analytics |
| Marketing | advertisement |
| Functional | functionality |
Turn it on
It’s on by default and starts working as soon as HubSpot is found. Check it under Omea Consent › Settings › Advanced in the HubSpot consent card:
- Detected – shows HubSpot plugin · portal 1234567 or HubSpot tracking code in Scripts · portal 1234567.
- Not detected – it switches on by itself once the HubSpot plugin (with a connected portal) or a HubSpot tracking code in Scripts is found.
The Get your site compliant checklist also lists HubSpot under Consent signals are on when it’s active.
HubSpot pages on your domain
If HubSpot serves part of your site – a blog at /blog/ or landing pages under your domain – those pages don’t run WordPress plugins, so Omea’s banner isn’t there. A cloud scan lists them under Pages without the banner.
With Omea Consent Pro, one line in HubSpot’s Site header HTML shows the same Omea banner on those pages, and one choice covers both.
HubSpot conversions
With Omea Consent Pro, a booked HubSpot meeting (meeting_booked) and a sent HubSpot form (form_submitted) can be counted as conversions and sent to your ad platforms with the visitor’s consent. See Conversion tracking in WordPress without code.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to turn off HubSpot's banner in HubSpot?
On your WordPress pages, no – Omea Consent hides it. On pages HubSpot hosts (a HubSpot blog or landing pages on your domain), HubSpot’s own settings apply; with Omea Consent Pro you can show Omea’s banner there too.
Does HubSpot still track visitors who reject?
HubSpot receives the choice through its consent API. When a visitor withdraws Statistics, Omea also removes HubSpot’s tracking cookies such as __hstc and hubspotutk.
Does this work with the HubSpot tracking code without the plugin?
Yes. If you’ve pasted the HubSpot tracking code (js.hs-scripts.com/<portal>.js) into Omea Consent › Scripts, Omea detects it the same way.
